10×20 trade show booths.
A focused 200 square feet.
A 10×20 booth provides 200 square feet. Choose one main visitor activity, then give staff, storage and circulation a realistic share of the footprint.
Start my booth projectWhat fits in a 10×20 trade show booth?
A focused demonstration, a small product display or a compact meeting setting can work in 200 square feet. Trying to give all three equal space often creates a crowded exhibit. Choose the activity that best supports your show goal, then test every fixture at its actual dimensions.
Confirm whether the allocation is inline, corner or another configuration. A 20-foot frontage and a 10-foot depth are not interchangeable when planning a back wall, neighboring sightlines or visitor access. Your organizer’s floor plan determines the arrangement.
Three starting layouts
| Priority | Place first | Keep secondary |
|---|---|---|
| Live demo | Screen or equipment, operator and participants | One short follow-up conversation area |
| Product discovery | Hero product, reachable samples and replenishment | A compact counter for specifications |
| Buyer meetings | Seating, pull-out space and entry | One clear product message visible from the aisle |
An illustrative demo-led allocation
One starting exercise is 60 square feet for a demonstration, 40 for a conversation zone, 20 for storage and staff supplies, and 80 reserved for circulation and access. Those areas total 200 square feet. They are not a compliance standard or a promise that your equipment will fit.
Draw equipment depth, cables, open doors and people into the plan. If the demonstration needs a waiting audience, reduce the furniture or choose a larger footprint. Avoid using the aisle as overflow space.
10×20 rental or custom build?
A rental framework may suit a first event or a changing show calendar. Custom product fixtures may still be necessary for heavy, powered or unusually shaped equipment. A hybrid combines those fixtures with reusable rental components.
Ask which graphics you keep, how the rental is returned and whether transport and installation are included. For ownership, ask how components pack and how they could adapt to a later footprint. The rental guide explains the scope comparison.
When is a 20×20 worth considering?
A 20×20 doubles the area to 400 square feet. Consider it when the actual dimensions of your demo, meeting needs and visitor routes cannot coexist in 200 square feet. The larger footprint also changes staffing, furnishing and show costs. Compare the 20×20 planning examples before reserving more space.
What should you send the builder?
- Official floor plan, booth number, open sides and event manual.
- Product sizes, weights and the full operating footprint.
- One main goal: demos, meetings or product discovery.
- Brand files, graphic requirements and the budget scope.
- Delivery, installation, dismantling and return requirements.
Use the quote checklist to compare proposals and the budget guide to keep exclusions visible.
Check your actual show requirements in the SEMA exhibitor manual, CES venue manuals or IAAPA exhibitor manual. An example layout is not organizer approval.

take the floor.
How big is a 10×20 booth?
A 10-foot by 20-foot booth has 200 square feet of floor area. Fixtures, staff, storage and visitor circulation all need to fit within the allocated footprint.
Can a 10×20 booth have a meeting table and demo?
It can, depending on the equipment and seating dimensions. Put both on a scaled plan and check entry, chair pull-out space and visitor circulation before committing.
